Anhalt

The Anhalt opened its doors in the fall of 2004 but it has been part of Berlin for a long time. In 1928 the present restaurant was built according to plans by the architects Paul Schröder and Max Pohl and hosted its guests as the first petrol station rest-stop of the Capital.

Recently having been redesigned following principles of great clarity the terrace-restaurant conveys the spirit of the golden 20ies. The main space offers two floors connected by a gallery and seats up to 120 guests at individual events of almost any kind. In the stylish atmosphere of unadorned comfort nothing distracts from savouring the tempting culinary creations.

Chef Gerald Körner offers a varied spectrum of seasonal dishes with a mediterranean touch and keeps his promises on a high level. The well-planned culinary menu starts includes little snacks like tapas and crêpes as well as delicious light entrées. Absolute top quality in the choice of products is as self-understood as professional and friendly service.

A successful combination of an exquisite cuisine in a modern ambiance and simple elegance guarantee the Anhalt’s individual touch.
The historic location on the “Lohmühlen”-island right next to the former Berlin Wall, the unmistakable modernist style, the proximity to the funky neighbourhood of Berlin-Kreuzberg and a lot more create the Anhalt’s manyfacetted uniqueness that we associate with Berlin.

It’s worth to come to a halt at the Anhalt!
